    Adventure From-the-Road

    Exploring Florida in the off-season.

If you ever want to see hidden places of tranquility, taking a week in January after Christmas can lead one to an adventure. Make memories come alive, of how it used to be. The places still exist with pristine beauty, from untouched beaches that reflect how beautiful it was before the condos and businesses moved in, taking forever to take that look away.

Thanks to the National Park Service and the States for keeping the hidden, unfounded hotspots to explore. The beaches in Destin, Florida, are the most beautiful that I’ve ever seen. The National Seashores give us pristine beauty. The Gold Coast is a treasure that stays hidden from us here in Central Florida.

A surprise awaits you in Marina, Florida, Jackson County, as you cross time zones and kick your clocks back one hour to central time. In a way, it is a snafu on us when we realize we have one more hour of vacation left.

Seeing Florida in the off-season is something we all can not enjoy, so make an effort not to miss our National beauty here in the south if the opportunity crosses your path.

    Ocean Pond

Drive just a few miles north to the Osceola National Forest for a look at the Florida we once knew. a quite serene, undisturbed, pristine piece of Florida that one must visit. Stunning beauty.

    A Florida hidden gem

A few days ago, we decided to visit the RV Caverns Park and see the limestone caves in Florida. They were interesting and very beautiful. A few pictures from the deep part of the caves where water ran in these caves when Florida was rising from the ice age, carving out the beautiful natural formation, and the rest was left up to nature’s limestone, iron, and calcium deposit forming the stalagmites and mites that are the attraction of the visit, here are a few pictures from the visit.

    A visit to Fort Pickens

Next came a two-night visit to Fort Pickens, a fort established in 1837 for the purpose of protecting the lower part of the region that was exposed to where enemy ships could sail in and attack. An awesome amount of firepower here, used to fend off unwelcome ships. These giant cannons can hurl a cannonball over three miles. The guns use a Rodman barreling to make the cannonball spin, giving it stability.

The remaining part of the fort is visible only through the bricks and ironworks; the fortification left a hard mark to make go away, with all the ammo and ordnance that were once present still causing concern for digging or metal detecting.

Now, having toured the fort, a haunting vision of how they made this fort with brick red bricks, tens of thousands of red bricks, the arches are incredible to see the weight supported on the rounded roof holding up the earth. Over the years, the mineral deposits of iron, calcium, and limestone have left their footprints on the brick’s working. A sight I was not expecting, a few guns, and all that is left over is cement with a brick fort.

A sample of RV photos from our journeys at camps this past year in 2025: early in the spring, we headed Northwest to Oregon via the old ‘trail’. Guts, Gas, and Gusto, we made it back. On first glance, I can not tell where many of these were taken. We have traveled so many miles and been across the USA twice last year. Many of these still need Geo-tagging.

Road pictures are my favourites. Sometimes, looking out the front window of the RV to lay the Camera on the center line and snapping away until I’m done. Life on the road for us is the most rewarding pleasure ever. Living life day by day, hour by hour, in the time of our lives where nothing else matters. Each of these pictures tells a story of our travels. Some of these, I can’t remember where we were. Others, the mountains give it away.

April brings us a new 2026 excursion,

Following Tetonic’s

Looking over the map of the faults, the cruise we are taking follows the San Andreas fault up through Alaska. It is directly on top of the fault. There’s always activity near and under the ‘rim of fire’. With lots of hope, we will be able to see and visit the NW coast before it breaks off into the Pacific Ocean.

The internet is full of self-helpers. Go AWAY

I have never seen so many experts talking about things that get our attention, like clickbait. What is this without any knowledge of a person’s life? These so-called experts in their forties are telling us to just do this and do that to solve our every hurt or discomfort. These ‘experts’ on relationships have watched too much Dr. Phil.

Each of these people needs to shut up and not tell others how well they have lived or how long their struggles have endured. The amount of stress you have suffered over something that can be fixed or remedied with this one or two knee reactions comments… There you are fixed! Now subscribe so I can fill your head full of more of my opinions.

Having the mentality to just reach out, take someone’s advice, and apply a rule of thumb to your life doesn’t always work. Be careful of listening to bystanders posing as experts on how to live.

In my opinion, real help comes from Jesus Christ. Whether it is in your sack of goodies to keep Jesus close, it is not a bad idea to do that. Simply asking God for redemption and forgiveness is not a steep price to pay for the assurance of eternal salvation for our souls. Listen to me, a simple prayer to God asking for his forgiveness for all the dirty deeds and sins you have done to others and against Christ’s will, be all you can be. Give it a try and feel God’s love over you.

Lower your head, close your eyes as you render this prayer to lead you to salvation. It is simple and such a small piece of insurance on your soul for eternity.

It goes like this;

Father God, I am a sinner, and I want to be part of your salvation. Father God, please forgive me of my sins and accept me as yours. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ.” That’s it. Now, pick up a Bible and begin to read with new eyes, and feel his voice speaking in your heart as you read his word. Keep in mind God will not fail us.

A sneak peek around the 2026 corner.

2026 will bring another cross-country tour, with more details coming soon. Planning has confirmed that preparations are underway, but specifics remain confidential for now. This upcoming trip is shaping up to be our most exciting yet and could last up to two months as we mobilize all our travel resources.

Holland America Cruise’s

A sketch getting to Seattle

Here we go again, with many of the miles we ran last year, our goal is not to let the rig gather dust. RVs were meant to roll, and that is what we are going to do!

In May next year, we will again return to the road. The timeline for this trip to Washington State is on schedule. On this run to the north west, we have specific targets of interest, mainly reaching Seattle by the third day of May. We are feeding our livestock extra this winter, ensuring they are strong enough to get us there. After all, if the mule and horses gave up, it would be the end of the trip.

A minor update in Seattle.

Last night, just before bed, I received a text message from the Project Planning Team asking me to review the next laid plan to the north-west.

It was late, but I was very excited and opened the email. As I looked at the travel plans, I saw we are returning to Florida through Arizona again. On our last trip through Arizona, most of our time was spent seeing the Grand Canyon, then off to Queens Creek for a brotherly visit with family.

Given the time spent at the Grand Canyon, last trip through here, our timeline let us see pretty much what we’d prepped for, heading for the Cascade Range and, hopefully, Yosemite National Park, ultimately destination Santa Cruz, Sherrie’s birthplace and hometown.

This run to Seattle is going to keep us on schedule to be at the Cruise terminals.  We plan to leave the RV under the Holland America parking lot as we depart for northern Sitka, Alaska, and beyond.

The return through UT and AZ gives us a chance to be with family, perhaps spend a few days in Arizona’s beauty, and camp with my brother and his wife.

This should be a fun Trip/vacation to Alaska.

More on this as it gets closer to May.

More Earthquakes in Alaska threaten the N.W.

January 18, 2026

One after another, the tremors and swarms of movements recorded by the USGS tell a tale: the plates are shifting and grinding along the Pacific Rim of Fire.

December 6, 2025

Tectonic plates are moving again causing massive earthquakes in Alaska.

I’d never in my life given much Creedence to earthquakes. After visiting the NW and getting so many alerts, my suspicion arose. Suddenly, I got a diorama view of Earth’s floating plates atop the molten rock. As they are fractured, but the pressure never ends. Hence, mountains and volcanic eruptions shake the earth and terrorize those living on the plates when they leak molten rock.

Somehow, in my life, I got the impression that we live in a very peaceful existence, in the calm, quiet, serene places we long to be in. With all respect, the illusions are just that. The sourounding life under and around us is indiscernible from pure magic. A world foreign to all sense of what is perceived as paradise.

Keep vigilant for the swarms occurring across the northern continent; they are only signs of what’s to come.

A little 101 from a kids’ video on the plates and movements. How it affects us and the planet. I chose this video because it is relatively easy to understand. Earthquakes 101.

Think about this…

by Tim Stenger

The more time I spend in the will and light of Jesus, the love is spreading in me with each day I find a peace I never thought I could drift into. A place where I can think it through is first: before doing everything, I check it by myself and by my better judgment, and who’s in charge of my judgment is God, leading his work by Jesus, the crusader for his throne. Let each day learn and teach us ways we have always known, yet we fall short of being that now with a newfound Christ presence in life, may this be a task for the easiest in a day.

The Son of God speaks to us in ways we do not understand. Every day, His presence in a believer lets us see everything He is telling us in a way we can only see. Through God comes all, and the love we feel is a gift of his salvation, the easiest thing to do.

God inspires us for the life of our dreams and his will for us. Why are we bound to live eternally? But how do we know that? We do not but by faith only, yet we refrain from the assurance that we will be turned from God on judgment day.

Living God’s dream is only for those who let God in and feel the shift in their mental attitude from a sinner to a Christian. Help is strength for us to take on, at work or at rest. God is in us always if we let the Spirit lead and guide our minds and hearts.

With that said, I bid you a fair day. Do not let a day go by without a moment to feel the presence of God in your life. Just open your heart and eyes to his presence, reach out, and let him lead you.

Ask this easy and simple prayer to be forgiven, “Father God, forgive me for my sin, I believe in you and want to be saved from sin. I ask you in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.” Now, find a Bible and read it as often as you can. The word of God through that book will inspire, protect, and strengthen your faith in the almighty Prince of peace. Amen.
